As well as affecting your smile, teeth which have been lost and not replaced, teeth that are wearing down and teeth that do not meet properly or are not in balance with the rest of your face can affect your bite and cause an
incorrect bite. If this is not treated the face can change due to changes in the positions of your jaws which could cause the face to sag, the smile to droop, the lower part of your face to appear too small, or the chin to stick out.
At your initial consultation your dentist will be able to discuss your needs with you and present you with possible options. Photos are usually taken of the face and teeth at different angles to help you and your dentist explain things to each other and sometimes to the laboratory technician.
One or more further appointments may be necessary to carry out more assessment and provide further opportunities to discuss anything you are not sure about. An estimate of the cost and written treatment plan will be given to before any treatment starts.
